Shear Blades

The Shear Blades are used for Glass Gob cutting in the Container Glass/ Table ware  manufacturing industry. With over 5 decades of experience of manufacturing shear blades, AEC Glass is serving the glass industry with highest quality shears and meeting customer expectations.  

The Shear Blades are manufactured from high quality High Speed Steel (HSS) and special alloys with excellent hardness and toughness properties. Our products are known for exceptional cutting performance at elevated temperatures and high cutting rates.

The specially engineered Shear Blades are a combination of excellent wear resistant cutting edge and flexible spring back body near the mounting holes. This special design reduces stress on shears hence extending the overall life for longer production runs. 

With our special expertise in heat treatment and over decades of manufacturing experience, we produce products with optimal combination of toughness and hardness. Our specialized process enhances the carbide formation which is well distributed hence significantly improving the wear characteristics and service life.

The U blade enables to radially squeeze the gob fallen from a spout to reduce possibility of shear marks as compared to V blade. However, V blade have extended life cycles as the edge degradation is gradual as compared to U blade which allows operators to compensate. Selection depends on the process control and need of the plant.
